Nominations:
Individuals are nominated by peers, partners, and sector experts, or identified through independent research.

Expert Panel Review:
A panel of independent judges, with expertise across sustainability, climate policy, technology, business and public service, reviews all nominations.

Longlist Selection:
An initial longlist of 100 individuals is compiled and published in the Green Business Journal.

Shortlist and Final Selection:
The expert panel carefully assesses the longlist to select the final 50 individuals who demonstrate significant leadership, innovation and impact towards achieving net zero in the UK. The final list is also published in the Green Business Journal.

Recognition:
Those selected are invited to a special reception at the House of Lords to celebrate their contribution.

The full list of judges will be announced after long-listing.

The Net Zero 50 List recognises individuals, but these individuals may represent organisations, businesses, public bodies, or community groups. The focus is on personal leadership, innovation, and impact in driving progress towards the UK’s net zero goals.
